We were looking for a place to buy, sell, and preferably play tabletop games. Such a place didn't exist yet. So we created it ourselves.

It all started with a webshop at home, but it quickly outgrew its space. So in 2018, we rented a building. We added a gaming club and a pickup service for the webshop. That was a success. So much so, in fact, that in 2021, we moved to a physical store in the center of Zwolle. With room for additional gaming tables.

Also: a sanctuary and stepping stone for young people with ASD/ADHD who are staying home and want to reintegrate into society. With us, they participate in daytime activities, volunteer, act as salespeople, and participate in activities. We work closely with Buitensporig Zorg and Slimme Streken, two other Taru initiatives. In 2020, Taru won an IGNITE Award for social entrepreneurs for this project.
